Description - Hostel

You can sleep when you're dead so DON'T expect to get any here.

At Grandio we believe in smashing through the limitations of acceptable behavior. So forget all the rules that your normal life carries with it, and shed your more reasonable self. You can act on your urges here, you can dance like no one's watching and smile like you mean it. You can bask in the reckless chaos at 5 am when you strip away all the BS and start connecting with real people on an intimate level in one of the most engaging places in the world.

Ok, if you survived that punch to the gut and are adventurous enough to keep reading let's move on.

We are the only party hostel in Budapest, and we act like it, so we've put the most raw, eclectic and truly unique mix of carnage and culture in a 150 year old Heritage-listed building and grew a jungle outside the front door.

Because we are the only party hostel in the city and different by nature we had to spice up the normal recipe for hostel expectations, and do some things that the other guys couldn't do or weren't prepared to.

That means...

Art is very important to us, so we brought in the city's best street artists to wow you in our sinfully themed rooms. So don't be surprised if you see a Nintendo-esque Mike Tyson grinning above your bed or cabaret inspired legs sprawling along the wall inviting you to be lustful. And if Graffiti is more your scene enjoy the walk up the stairs into the hostel, its walls are adorned with tags from Budapest's first graffiti artists, whose shop is a few blocks away. And don't be shy, we love to hear about guests' artistic talents, and we have a lot of blank walls that could serve as the canvas for your next masterpiece.

10 meters from your room is one of the most acclaimed bars of the season having been featured in travel articles, magazines and international blogs. And If the proximity and popularity of the bar weren't enough, we worked out special drink deals for guests to keep your pockets full and your thirst quenched.

If late night hot spots and underground cult classic ruin bars is on your agenda, our well traveled staff of diverse maniacs, musicians and professional drinkers will be waiting every night to take you out for karaoke nights, exclusive dress-up backpacker parties, pub crawls and an array of other booze-filled options. A rave at the Turkish bath houses or live music on a Ukrainian tug boat are never more than a request away.

Most nights seem too short, so at 3 am when the city says silence and every other hostel is tucking its guests in to bed, we say go to our late night room to hang out on the hammock and continue your deep discussions, play drinking games or seal the deal on our custom-made theatrical stage bed donated by the national opera house (use your imagination as to its purpose). Take down a few guitars and jam til morning, and if you're feeling parched, the only known beer vending machine in Hungary will be awaiting you in the next room fully loaded and ice cold.

If you are a friendly gamer or a cold blooded competitor take on a game of Foosball or Ping Pong in our game room. But get your practice in for our Sunday "Beer Olympics" and "Beat the Staff Challenge", including the world-infamous "10 Tequila Challenge".

Of course we didn't skimp on the little things, so free tea and coffee, clean linen and wifi are all included.

So there it is, plain as day and easy like Sunday morning. So come find us in the jungle, we'll be the ones with the tall cold drinks, grinning because we know something no one else does, and having all the fun.
